Oil prices continued to defy expectations on Wednesday, hitting an intra-day high of $101.32 US per barrel before backing off to close at $100.74.
For anyone keeping track, that`s an increase of $13.60, or 15.6 per cent, in the past two weeks.
The jump has predictably taken oil stocks along for the ride, with the S&P/TSX Energy index regaining some of the ground lost when the markets melted down last month.
