Property Manager- Illegal Suite

Hi,



I just received the following notice from my property manager:



Unfortunately, the Real Estate Services Act does not permit
us to manage a property where the basement suite is illegal. Therefore, due to
the Real Estate Service Act we are unable to manage $(*#(#&#(
Road. Please be advised that we are submitting our 30 days notice for managing $($*&$&$*$( Road. As of Sept. 1, 2014 we will no longer be managing #$*$&#*(& Road.



I am wondering if this is in fact that case? Does the act not allow property managers to manager non-conforming suites?

Here is what RECA (in Alberta) tells its members is an illegal activity they should not do (listed among dozens of others such as run a grow-op, falsify invoices or take client's money):
