A two-year planning process, triggered by the redevelopment of a single Main Street restaurant, has culminated in the unveiling of a community design plan for Old Ottawa East.
The draft plan was presented yesterday to about 60 members of the community by officials with the City of Ottawa and the Ottawa East Community Association.
Ottawa East, which is bounded by the Rideau Canal, the Rideau River, Old Ottawa South and Nicholas Street, is comprised of seven distinct neighbourhoods, including Riverdale, Rideau Gardens and Spencerville.
