Just wondering if anyone has any thoughts/opinions on the recent unemployment news for Oshawa? If you read the newspaper it`s enough to scare the bee-G`s out of ya but I did some digging on stats Canada website, this is what I came up with:

http://www40.statcan.gc.ca/l01/cst01/lfss04e-eng.htm

Notice population growth was 6100 people, according to the news there were 2130 additional unemployment claims (96.4% increases) in the past year....well what about the other 4000 people??? There were also 2300 more people looking for work in Oshawa in the past year so doesn`t that kind of balance out the 2100 increase in unemployment??

Am I just being overly optimistic here or is the media being overly pessimistic?

Nobody scores 100% all of the time. The Top Ten predictions were made using what were current statistics at the time. Unexpected events happen. That`s life.
