Ontario`s municipalities will get another $150 million to build roads, repair sewers and improve other public infrastructure, Premier Dalton McGuinty announced this morning.
"This will lead to about 6,700 new construction jobs in your communities. This funding will go where you have decided it needs to go to the priorities you deem important," McGuinty told a conference of 1,500 municipal officials from across the province.
The money tops up an existing $300 million infrastructure fund announced in 2007, which had far more applications than it could handle.
