I`m just wondering if anyone knows if there is going to be a new estate/acreage/high end development in the deep SW (think 37th St. and 22x) in the next few years?

Check out what`s going on at Priddis around the Priddis Greens golf course (one of the best around). It may be a bit farther south but the road connection is great and the development is spectacular. The lots are very expensive though.

I read in the Sun earlier this week of a develpment by Spruc Meadows. Spruce Meadows wasn`t happy about it.

Thanks Garth! I know what you mean about Priddis... my husband is a member out there and it is gorgeous! It would be perfect if it was just 15 minutes closer to the city. I think I want the best of both worlds... city living with an acreage lifestyle. Mostly I don`t want to have to drive too far to get the kids into the city to their activities. I`d really like to see a development at 37th Street and 22x. Great mountain views there! I`d love if someone to developed that.

Hi:

Gossip around the View and Brew (Priddis) last year was that it was slated for a low to mid income development of about 20K people. I couldn`t find anything to back that up though!

37th street is part of the south ring road development so any developement east of 37th street on the north side of the road maybe delayed.

Silverado maybe the developement that Spruce Meadows has an issue with. There was alot of press around it before they started digging.

I think Garth was thinking of Hawks landing which is close to the golf course. http://www.hawkslanding.ca/ One of the reasons why the lots cost more is because the developemnt has their own water treatment system (most people in this area are on their own well). The area is also set up for high speed internet (which can be a pain to set up outside the city limits!)

Concern right now in the coffee shop is the Spruce Ridge Estates development which would be located on 22 south. They may own the land - but there isn`t MD approval to develop. The foothills MD disapproved an acreage type development of a 1/4 section at 22 south and plummers road (east side of road). http://spruceridgeestates.homestead.com/

If I here anything about your first request (37th street and 22x), I`ll let you know!

Susan is right - my reference was to Hawk`s Landing. We are at Heritage Pointe and have what you are seeking. It is further east but has less snow than the west side, is a bit warmer and is 7 only minutes from either Calgary via the Deerfoot extension or Okotoks. We are 30 minutes to downtown in light traffic. With the widening of 52 St begun now, we`ll soon be 30 minutes to our NE Calgary properties.

Happy hunting,
