Just stumbled onto these accounts last week and find it interesting as I never seem to be able to write off medical expenses on taxes. Having one child almost done with braces and another in the queue, this sucks.
I chatted with my employers `benefits advisor` and he indicated that:
a) either my employer had to initiate the plan (not likely)
or
b) or I had to be a sole proprietor and derive more than 50 percent of my income from the business source.
I am only on my first property so the gross rent does not come close to my employment income yet.
Does anyone have any experience with these that provides and alternate route for me to use one?
At very least this is an FYI for those of you who have gotten free of `the man.
