Business License Needed in Multifam Ownership?

I have recently purchased a multifam in Edmonton and my property manager is asking me to get a business license. Is this a requirement for owning commercial property in Edmonton?

I own the property in a corporation.

The short answer is yes.

The long answer is: it is just another money grab of a left-leaning city (most cities are run by left-leaning tax-and-spend happy mayors) and you could probably fight it, as you could argue the corporation is not based in Edmonton and the PM operates the asset, not you.
