A group of 300 Bramptonians were told this week that time is precious, but if they are spending three hours a day driving to and from work, they will spend three years in their cars over the course of a lifetime.
"Three whole years of your life," said Paul Bedford, an "urban mentor" and the City of Toronto`s former chief planner. "If you spend two hours a day, it is a little over two years of your life."
Bedford was the guest speaker at the Mayor`s Town Hall Meeting on Growth at the Holiday Inn Select in Bramalea Wednesday evening. He told the group of residents that planning the city`s future is all about quality of life, and everyone has to start thinking differently when it comes to "future-proofing" Brampton, or any other city.
