The potential of shale rocks to yield vast natural gas reserves came a step closer to reality after an American independent on Thursday revealed the first public results of an experimental new resource play.
Houston-based EOG Resources said its Horn River properties in the extreme northeast corner of British Columbia could hold as much as six trillion cubic feet of natural gas, based on the results of four experimental wells drilled over the past three winters.
