The black gold rush is on, as dozens of Ontario manufacturing companies look to head west, lured by billions of dollars ripe in booming Alberta`s oilsands.

Representatives of 49 Windsor, Ont., companies -- most of which grew and prospered thanks to the auto industry -- packed a room Tuesday for Oilsands 101, a lesson on how to get a piece of the growing oilsands business.

It would be about switching gears and giving them what they want, not trying to convince them they want what you have to give. That`s a problem I`ve seen made. People want to sell what they do well.
