Paying for liquid assets
The city is sinking revenue from increased water service fees into infrastructure.
Colin Innes, director of public works, said the purpose of the increased rate was to have funds earmarked specifically for water infrastructure.
"Most of what we`ve dealt with here this year, is in getting a lot of the design work put together for some of the major projects," said Innes.
"Of course a lot of that deals with things like ultraviolet systems for our water plant and wastewater plant ... as well as helping to deal with our buried utility piping,"
