Saskatchewan records highest year-over-year wage increase in Canada: StatsCan

All signs point to a hot job market for employees in Saskatchewan, according to reports released Tuesday by Statistics Canada. Saskatchewan topped the country with the highest year-over-year wage increase at 5.4 per cent. In addition, Saskatchewan ranked second among the provinces, behind Alberta, in average weekly earnings, including overtime, which increased 4.7 per cent in 2007. Saskatchewan also had one of the largest declines in employment insurance (EI) recipients.
