We have just purchased an investment property and sold some stock from the cash account for the down payment. Can we minimize the capital gain from the share value increase against the purchase price or costs?

Thanks,

Ian Ferguson

yes, by applying a capital loss from the past (unlimited time) .. or from future (I believe 3 years maximum to re-file) .. possibly by buying a firm with capital losses !

Do a search on the net on "losses for sale" ..
