Greetings Everyone,
I just finished reading Don Campbell’s “Real Estate Investing in Canada” and it was definitely worth the investment. I’ve even shared it with some of my Canadian colleagues out here and we’re all ready to jump on the bandwagon.
I currently reside in Dubai so I would be considered a Canadian non-resident from a legal perspective. Unfortunately, I’ve discovered that there are a lot of stumbling blocks that accompany such a residency status when it comes to investing in real-estate. Apparently, I can’t take on a second mortgage, can’t get access to a home equity loan nor a personal line of credit.
I’m wondering if there are other non-residents on the forum that have been through these hurdles and who have found strategic ways to overcome them. Any advice would be appreciated.
